HOW I GOT INTO TARGETING AND WHY THE AGENCY BECAME MY PLACE OF GROWTH

Illustration

START OF THE JOURNEY

I am one of those people who dreamed and made plans, but life occasionally made its own adjustments.
I had been interested in marketing for a long time, but my path to Meta Ads targeting was fraught with doubts, fears, and constant internal questions:
“What if it doesn't work out?”

BEFORE TARGETING

I worked as a waitress.
It was a job that allowed me to earn money, but it took a lot of energy — both physically and mentally.

I clearly understood that I didn't want to work like that my whole life and live from weekend to weekend.

At the same time, I enrolled in university to study marketing and moved to another city. Then I came to a simple realization: I want to develop in this field and become a professional.

FIRST STEPS AND FEARS

I started with basic courses on targeting — without any illusions or stories about “easy money.” It was important for me to understand how advertising actually works.

After completing my training, I quit my job, thinking that I could get hired for an entry-level position. The reality turned out to be harsh: without experience, no one would hire me.

My biggest fear was simple and realistic:
I have no experience, I will waste budgets, and I will simply fail.

HOW I GOT INTO THE AGENCY

I wrote to various agencies — without any requirements or expectations.
At first, there were no responses, but a month later, the company where I currently work had a vacancy for a targetologist, and they offered me the job.

We talked, and a few days later I started working.
Now I can say that it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

FIRST MONTHS AND GROWTH

It was scary at first. I doubted whether I understood marketing well enough, whether I could think like a targetologist, and whether I could handle the responsibility.

But along with my fears, there was another side — support from the team, the opportunity to ask questions and not be afraid of mistakes.
I felt myself growing from the very first months.

I have been working at the agency since October and can see my progress:
● I have become more independent and confident in my decisions;
● I have a better understanding of the logic of advertising, analytics, creativity, and the connection between advertising and clients' business goals.

The agency format has become an environment for growth for me — not because of pressure, but because of practice, responsibility, and the team.

MY TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

During this time, I have come to understand a few simple things:

● You don't need to know everything at the start — it's important to be able to learn
● Practice is stronger than ideal courses
● The right team really accelerates development
● Fear is normal if you don't stop

HOW I FEEL RIGHT NOW

I really like my job and the format in which I am growing as a specialist.
This is not a story about “I got lucky right away,” but about gradual growth, support, and work that brings satisfaction.

If you value not only results but also the approach of a team that helps businesses achieve their goals, the Osadchiy Agency team is always open to cooperation.
